I was not interested in Architecture when I first stepped into this field. But it has gradually grown into me and now has become my passion and career. I don’t have any broad definition about Architecture but for me it is an expression, and how you express the essence of that space. How you want your work to be portrayed to the world is important but keeping in consideration all the restrictions from the client is also important. Being an architect, the sole responsibility we have is to make one feel comfortable in that space. Making one feel differently when they’re in that space.
For me architecture shouldn’t just be pleasing to eyes but it must be designed such that it pleases each of your remaining senses. One thing that remains in my mind while designing is that the structure I design now is a home/ workspace/ educational space for someone. Someone is going to live in it so I have to design imagining that I’m in that space.
I have always been interested in designing for all the senses and keen to learn about universal design and its implementation in Nepal. Thus was the reason for choosing Institute for Blind and Visually Impaired as my thesis topic.
Here, my portfolio consists of some recent works I did during my bachelor’s. But due to some restrictions I’m not allowed to post my thesis on social media at the moment. So, if I get a chance to interview, I would definitely love to present my work.
